Michael Bastow (b. 1943, Bideford, GB) is a British artist who lives and works between Paris and Malaucène, France. After working as a production designer and art director for British films and television, Bastow moved to Brussels, where he began his painting practice. His subjects are most commonly nude women. Starting in 2001, the artist spent several years restoring and decorating the Chapel of St. Alexis in Malaucène. Bastow has exhibited work at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, BE; Frac Franche-Comté, Besançon, FR; Modern and Contemporary Art Museum, Liège, BE; and Recoleta Cultural Centre, Buenos Aires, AR.
